The product
From the field to decision.
In minutes.
AnFiTest is the first handheld device that measures non-structural carbohydrates (the sugar that triggers laminitis) directly from a fresh grass sample. Pull a tuft, run a test, get a clear go or no-go. Before the gate opens.
- 1
Take a sample
Pinch a small handful of grass from where your horse will graze.
- 2
Drop it in the device
Insert the sample. The chemistry happens in the field, no lab required.
- 3
Read your risk score
Get a result quickly. Synced straight to your phone.
- 4
Our analytics combine data sets
We combine your results with weather, soil type and animal history.
- 5
Make the decision
Turn out, restrict, or move fields. We give suggestions tailored to each specific animal.

Our story
Born from a passion for animal welfare and scientific rigour
AnFiTest was founded by Henrietta, with an engineering background she is focused on improving equine and livestock health through better diagnostics. After seeing the limits of current reactive approaches, she set out to build tools that support earlier, data driven decisions.
From an equine and farming family, she identified an opportunity to bring modern diagnostic thinking into everyday animal health management.
Based at Newburn Riverside, Newcastle upon Tyne, AnFiTest is building practical, field ready technology at the intersection of animal health, bioscience, and diagnostic innovation.
Pre-commercial stage
Our diagnostic technology is currently in development. We are focused on research, validation, and building a platform that can deliver real impact for animals and the people who care for them.
